Dr. Nuria Casamitjana
Dr. Núria Casamitjana, holds a bachelor degree in Pharmacy, a Master Degree in Occupational Health and a PhD in Synthesis of Bioactive Compounds. Currently she is professor at the University of Barcelona and Director of Training and Education at the Barcelona Institute for Global Health.
Dr Casamitjana has academic experience in teaching, research and management at the University of Barcelona. She has been Vicerector for Academic Affairs from 2002 to 2005. In 2006 she contributed to the creation of the Barcelona Centre for International Health Research (CRESIB, University of Barcelona-Hospital Clinic, www.cresib.cat) becoming its Deputy Director and academic Coordinator until 2011. In 2011 she contributed to the creation of the new Barcelona Institute for Global Health (ISGlobal, that includes CRESIB at its research branch) and she became the Director of Training and Education.
Since 2006 she has been involved in international training programs in International Health, mainly in Mozambique, Morocco and Bolivia.
She is the representative of the University of Barcelona - ISGlobal/CRESIB at the ACP Countries Task Force of the Coimbra Group of European Universities, the European academic Global Health Alliance (EAGHA), and the EUROLIFE International Health Alliance (EIHA).
