Alumni Workshop “Quality of Care Management” Berlin 5-14 December 2011

The Institute of Tropical Medicine and International Health (ITMIH), Charité –Universitätsmedizin Berlin has the pleasure to announce the Alumni Workshop “Quality of Care Management”, which will take place in Berlin, 5-14 December 2011.

The Alumni Workshop has as general objectives to offer training courses in Germany to ITMIH alumni on topics relevant to their practice, to help alumni staying in touch with ITMIH, and to foster networking with other ITMIH alumni. Teaching methods include lectures and group work.

In 2011, the workshop will use case studies, lectures, group work and discussions to deal with approaches to improve the quality of care, which are often felt to be
unsatisfactory. The workshop will consist of an introductory part (5-10 Dec) and a second part in which a proposal is developed on introducing a quality improvement
strategy into the context where alumni are coming from (11-14 Dec). Please consult outline and time schedule for more details.

The target group are alumni of the ITMIH Master of Science in International Health or
similar MSc courses in Germany. The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD – PAGEL) has made a limited number of travel grants available for applicants from
industrialised as well as from developing countries, who neither have the German citizenship nor are currently living in Germany. The travel grant amounts to:

For participants from industrialised countries: travel (up to 300 EUR)
For participants from developing countries: travel (up to 1150 EUR)
For all participants: visa (up to 40 EUR), health insurance (up to 30 EUR), per diem (90 EUR/day, day of arrival and day of departure counting as half day each), free attendance.

Participants will receive a Certificate of Attendance.
